The seed was planted when I was a little girl and my family would visit a dude ranch, which felt like home away from home. I always had a love for animals and creating art, which filled me with joy. The experience of the outdoors and horses brought me an overwhelming feeling of peace.
When I was a teenager I was raped and again in college. I did not have an outlet to deal with all the pain, crazy emotions, and false shame associated with it. In my later years, through counseling, I dealt with the realization that I was raped and it was not my fault. Through these experiences, working with teenagers throughout my life, and witnessing how animals, the outdoors and art brought me such peace & healing. I felt God had used all these things to bring about the vision of what is RHR.
I along with my husband, now want to help others who have gone through similar experiences or even more tragic ones.
RHR exists to aid in the restoring process of helping kids who have been sexually, physically and/or emotionally abused. If that has happened within the foster care system, in their home or other situations.
We will involve the use of animals, the outdoors, and the arts in our programs. Christian counselors and mentors will come along side them on this journey to help each kid.
She has been a long time friend and we value her wisdom, discernment and commitment to RHR. She has worked in several marketing companies such as The Clorox Company, City of Bend, & Tesla. Jaci, her husband Jer, and three kids love living in Bend, Oregon. And taking advantage of all things outdoors.
Christine has known Lena for over a decade. She is a high school teacher and advocate for not only her students, but any student who comes into her classroom. This, with her compassion and love for Christ makes her fit right into RHR. She calls her home Martinez, California with her pup Canelo & her mama Regina. They enjoy hiking the hills with her niece and nephews.
Her and her family took a leap of faith to move up to Oregon and start up another Journey church in Redmond. That is how our paths crossed and we are so grateful they did. Her love for others, animals and God brings great value to this non-profit. We are so blessed to have her be a part of RHR. Stacey along with her husband Luke and two kids live in Redmond Oregon and are enjoying all the lakes, rivers and mountains central Oregon has to offer.

Decker & Hank were donated to us by Michelle Bell who loved our vision & wanted to give back.
We also have chickens, pigs, goats & alpacas. Since we feel that kids will also connect with other animals.
Alan & Christine
As parents ourselves we have a heart for kids. Especially those who are hurting, as we both have experienced deep hurts in our lives. Those experiences have made us want to live lives that show others that their is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Someone who you can hope in, trust in and who loves you purely for who you are. That someone is Jesus Christ. Our hope and prayer is through the restoring process, these kids will know they are loved, valued & worth fighting for!
Christine has had a dream to start a retreat center as long as she can remember. Alan has always loved the outdoors and helping others. So RHR was formed.
Here at Restoring Hope Ranch we will not only be providing both emotional and physical support, but also spiritual. With pointing these kids to Christ, we hope they will come to find that Jesus is the One who truly makes us whole.
"I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not to abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me."- Jeremiah 29:11-13 (MSG)
